A fond farewell to Saudi Arabia

Recommended reading. I have not been following Susie of Jeddah Daily Photo for much more than a couple of years or so, and while I am not particularly interested in Saudi Arabia, her photos give a good insight into daily life.

Susie is returning to I think the US after fifteen years in Saudi and she has published a cracking final post, mostly photos of herself in various garb, at various places with various people. We all know enough about Saudi to know it has huge human rights issues and the rulers are despotic, but her blog is all about daily life for average people.

You won't be sorry to read Susie's last post, if only to keep up with her costume changes. The photo below of course is one of Susie's.

Thanks for the Memories.

  2. I can only keep up with a dozen or so blogs so I am afraid I won't be checking out Susie's blog any time soon. Sorry about that Susie!

  5. I wasn't even sure exactly where Saudi Arabia was, I had to get out my Atlas. It's nice that she put up a goodbye post and not just vanished.

    1. River, Saudi is over there, somewhere, with all the rest. Yes, it is a good thing to do.

  6. She’s been on quite a journey hasn’t she - wish you’d mentioned her before now. I wonder if she will renege and start a blog about her new ‘home town’ ?

    1. Cathy, I don't know if she ever wrote about how her journey began or anything very personal, and if she does start a new blog, I will reference it if it comes through on my reader.
