Poppet arrives

She wasn't in a hurry and so was extracted with forceps. Of course it is compulsory to say how beautiful a new baby looks when you first see them in hospital with their parents, even if they are not, but Poppet looks nice enough for a new born. We now have five great nieces and one great nephew all under the age of seven. Surely there will be at least one of them who will push Auntie Andrew around in his wheelchair.

Poppet. We don't even know her weight or name yet. We have been told by her mother that just because she is a girl, pink is not really welcome, which is I suppose why she is in a brown blanket. We sent them some fabulous leopard print fluffy baby booties (very expensive) a couple of weeks ago and they loved them.

  3. She looks a healthy weight. And not sleepy.

I take it that is a ‘hospital photo’ you won’t have actually see her yet, have you? Except maybe on zoom

  5. I never remembered which brother, son, nephew or husband I was talking to *frustrating* ... so I started calling each one Poppet *slightly infantile*

Babies are totally beautiful; 17 year old boys are not.

  6. Well congratulations to the parents and to you also.
I'm sure someone will push you around in a wheelchair if you need one.
Babies are always cute, not matter what.

  7. The last time I was in England I saw one of those all-in-one baby suits in a shop window, which was blazoned with the words 'F*ck Off". I really wonder if they sold any? Pink Leopard skin booties sounds much better.

  17. Congratulations to the Uncles of little Poppet ! I never found new born babies beautiful, they are mostly rather ugly my son included, he had too big ears, was bare and one of the ear hang higher then the other. Those who told me what a beautiful baby he was I thought liars !! But.... he became a very handsome man !
