The stuffed toys delight me too - here and those you see. Back pain? I do hope it is diminishing. I am very sorry to hear that the lock down is getting you down. You are not alone - which is not a comfort.
EC my back is much better now. I went for a decent walk today without pain for the first time for a week. We are now halfway through our hard lock down and I expect it will be gradual opening up.
Below a roo to rue the day; but glad he's not stuffed!
Keep your chin up...time for you to find a time-consuming, interesting indoor hobby, I think...to help blow the blues away. As EC said above...you are not alone...but knowing isn't much comfort, I know.
I hope your back has ceased giving you grief...and I hope the week ahead treats you more kindly, Andrew. Take good care. :)
Lee, I am getting through umpteen ebooks at a rapid pace. I am loving watching Youtube vids on the big screen. But at times selfish despondency sets in. Why are we living like this?
I mean a hobby...as in being creative...making something...creating something. Using both hands and mind..that kind of hobby, Andrew. Something you've built...doesn't have to be elaborate...Louvre or Museum of Modern Art-worth...something to occupy both your hands and mind.
Make some Christmas presents for your loved ones...adults and children...just an idea... :)
Ok. Maybe you are right. Something hands on and not reading or writing or anything tech. But I am hopeless at most things done by hand. I will think about this.
Sorry your back is still paining you. The last two days I've just checked out mentally. I think tonight I will get out a book and read. It can only help my mood!
Poor little things will be getting drenched at the moment:)
Time to do some back rolling Andrew. Flat on back, knees to chest and roll (not sideways though). Getting up could be a problem. Or standing up pull knee up to chest and stretch. That can be done lying down as well. Little crunches help as well. Add a stiff drink and a moan now and then!
I haven't been walking lately, not even around the block, so I haven't seen any stuffed toys, I don't think there are many left that haven't been destroyed by weather or taken inside again. the above rolling is a good idea, also lying on your stomach with a pillow or two under the stomach, then gently rolling hips side to side. with both methods I'd suggest some sort of support to get upright again so you don't tear anything.
Hang in there Andrew. I feel your isolation woes. Fingers crossed that restrictions will be relaxed in a few weeks. I also feel your back pain. Get well soon.
Love that toy on the fence - thanks for sharing these photos. Hope your back soon improves.. Gosh, down in the dumps not a nice feeling I presume. Take care...hopefully it won't be too long before you can go out and about...wonder where will the first place you will go!
Margaret, down in the dumps in the best way to describe my feelings. It is not serious. It is not depression. Just down in the dumps. Wherever we go, it will be with great caution.
It's cute that people put toys out to make people feel a little better. I like the subtle ways we all chip in to care for each other during these crazy times! I can identify on the depression -- I've definitely had some low moments. Lockdown sucks, there's no two ways about it.

DeleteI hope you feel better. I like the middle picture the best, possibly because it's the clearest.
ReplyDeleteKirk, hard to go wrong when you are just a metre away. Thanks.

River, I do the hip side to side before I get out of bed. My back is ok now, but as Doctor Smith in Lost in Space said, my back is delicate.
DeleteRocking side to side more than rolling.
