Dates

At about 7.30pm on the 5th of August I was switched to New Blogger. My post for 5am on 6th of August was already written and just required a little grammar and style correction. I did so, and clicked the arrow to publish. Up popped a confirmation that my post will be published on 8/6/2020. No no. I don't want my post published back in June.........or is it the American date system? That is in spite of my blog being set to UK English.

So if there is a post about words at 5am Thursday, Australian time, you know it was the American date system. If there isn't another post at the same time, go back to the 8th of June and it will be there.

  1. Sigh.
I am still on old blogger. And will probably try and remain there. Change for changes sake is not my friend.

    1. EC, even if you move, you can move back but I think I read that by the end of this month you will have to move.

    2. Sadly yes. I tried preparing a post using New Blogger this afternoon, got totally frustrated, sent them feedback, and changed back again.

  2. I shall keep my eyes peeled, Andrew. I guess I am bi-tri- whatever date wise. Having lived all over the world and being raised here in the States, I can quick read a date and sort of know. Especially if it is for 20/11/20.
In any case it is a strange thing. I feel like all measurements and dates, we should get these standardized so it is uncomplicated world-wide.

    1. Maribeth, the date was 08/06/20. That is not clear to me. If it can't be done our way, it should be done using the international system, 2020/08/06. Standardisation would be great.

  3. I'm fine with the new Blogger except the labels function doesn't work!
I also find it really slow.

    1. Jackie, it worked ok for my two posts. It does seem slower.

  4. I tried new blogger and got it sorted, but prefer the old blogger. Today I opened the dashboard to schedule tomorrow's post and learned it was now new blogger, I keep typing blooger) and I could still use legacy blogger if I wished but only for a short time. So I scheduled in old (legacy) blogger, because the scheduling is easier there. Next time I'll have to muddle through the new, more complicated scheduling system.

    1. River, we must have changed to the new at about the same time. I honestly thought that Blogger would die through neglect so in a way I am pleased with the new Blogger, even if it is not perfect yet.

  5. As far as I can work out the dates are American!
Will get used to the new blogger with practice. Labels are a bit odd though.

  6. I chose not to change yet Andrew, there was a little sign to the left at the bottom saying you could revert back to old blogger.. couldn't press it quick enough 😁😁

  7. I haven't switched. I tried it, then went back to the old. Like the old better. Works easier.

    1. Strayer, it seems slower to me, but I don't have huge problems with it.
