Shorpy.com comes up with some absolutely wonderful photos, in a huge size so that you can see detail. I am not sure how Blogger will deal with the size of this photo. Click on the photo to see.
This is how I like to remember him, in black and white. Can anyone tell me who he is with? His mother perhaps? Her thin lips are in contrast to his voluptuous lips.
My mother would have insisted he did up his shirt...
ReplyDeleteEC, and I rather like that it isn't.
DeleteA gorgeous photo of Elvis and his mum, I read that he loved her very much, theres another black and white photo of him in his army uniform looking absolutely devastated just after she passed away.
ReplyDeleteCheryl, I think I may have seen that photo in his army uniform.
DeleteYup that's definitely Mum, maybe he inherited his voluptuous lips from dad 😘
ReplyDeleteGrace, yes, I would guess so.
DeleteYes...that is Elvis' mother sitting next to him. I loved Elvis...still do.
ReplyDeleteLee, as well as his looks, his voice could just melt you.
DeleteFor sure!
DeleteThat is Gladys his mother.
ReplyDeleteLove his singing.
Margaret, thanks. Sexy singer?
DeleteAnd who is the cowboy in the photo frame?
ReplyDeleteCro, I had eyes for only one. Ok, yes I can see the photo. His father?
DeleteI didn't know what Elvis' mother looked like so I'm glad others could say definitely that is Gladys. Colour photos of Elvis are also good, but not once he began putting on so many pounds he almost bursts the seams on those spangled jumpsuits.
ReplyDeleteYep River, I know. He became a bit of a sad old figure. Just as well we have kept our looks and figures.
DeleteI think that is his Mother.
ReplyDeleteLady J, pretty well confirmed by others. He really doesn't look like her though.
DeleteBoy he could shake it. My father thought he was sinful. But he was just jealous.
ReplyDeleteStrayer, I think many men of that era were quite jealous of Elvis, who was everything they were not.
