Old Elvis

Shorpy.com comes up with some absolutely wonderful photos, in a huge size so that you can see detail. I am not sure how Blogger will deal with the size of this photo. Click on the photo to see.

This is how I like to remember him, in black and white. Can anyone tell me who he is with? His mother perhaps? Her thin lips are in contrast to his voluptuous lips.

  2. A gorgeous photo of Elvis and his mum, I read that he loved her very much, theres another black and white photo of him in his army uniform looking absolutely devastated just after she passed away.

  7. I didn't know what Elvis' mother looked like so I'm glad others could say definitely that is Gladys. Colour photos of Elvis are also good, but not once he began putting on so many pounds he almost bursts the seams on those spangled jumpsuits.

    1. Yep River, I know. He became a bit of a sad old figure. Just as well we have kept our looks and figures.

    1. Lady J, pretty well confirmed by others. He really doesn't look like her though.

  9. Boy he could shake it. My father thought he was sinful. But he was just jealous.

    1. Strayer, I think many men of that era were quite jealous of Elvis, who was everything they were not.
