Christmas Eve

Just a few Christmas themed photos I have taken when I have been out and about over the past few weeks. I had forgotten about Stollen until an off blog conversation with Maribeth. I remember it now, and I don't think I am that keen on it really. Aldi, South Melbourne.

The dry cleaner is up for some Christmas spirit.

Much of the city's Christmas decoration is looking old and tired, but Federation Square is quite good.

Degraves Street, Melbourne.

Collins Street, Melbourne.

Block Arcade, Melbourne.

Emporium, Melbourne.

Melbourne Town Hall.

Cartier, Collins Street, Melbourne.

A plane tree rugged up for our hot summer in a Christmas themed knit.

I am sure the tree looks great at night when lit. Davey Street, Frankston.

Nice nose, Rudolph. Bay Street, Port Melbourne.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday.......whatever. Have a good day tomorrow.

  2. The only Christmas decoration I have is a golden (as in colour) solid paper mache reindeer that stands about one foot, give or take, tall. He's standing proud on my coffee table.

I'm spending Christmas very quietly...by choice...I intend to expend as little energy as possible. Just me and my two furry mates...we will enjoy it..and I hope you do, too.

Merry Christmas to you and to R...and to your extended family and loved ones. :)

    1. Lee, the reindeer sounds pretty cool. Thanks so much. There are worse things than enjoying your own company and that of furry friends on Christmas Day.

  6. Merry Christmas, Andrew to you and R. So, you do have Stollen in Australia. I've decided to have my Stollen in the morning and enjoy every bite.
I've noticed our decorations in town are not as fabulous as usual. Sort of understated.
    Oh well.
I am looking forward to Christmas tomorrow as I am spending it with my daughter and the grandchildren.

  7. I bought the small Aldi's stollen and it was crap, never again. I bought a packet of Kookaburra biscuits with jam filling, very l950s but when fresh, satisfying. I'm with Lee although only one furry friend and looking forward to peace and quiet.

  8. Melbourne looks so lovely! I remember Stollen my mum liked it but I never did. I do enjoy the small ginger cookies coating in crisp icing, I don't remember the exact spelling, buy Pfeffernuisse is close I think. I'll buy a pack after Christmas and take a photo.
