A remarkable coincidence about the fence and the tree

In a remarkable coincidence a huge limb from the tree the woman who owns next door wants removed has fallen and damaged the fence. I hope Mother has been paying her home insurance. ABI Brother has already checked for saw cuts. I hope to meet Tradie Brother tomorrow on site to have a look.

  1. I do hope your suspicious mind is proved wrong, but would not be at all surprised if it isn't.

    1. DCI Tradie Brother is attending tomorrow and looking for saw cuts and rope pull marks. He will cut up and remove what is on her side of the fence. Mother's home insurance is up to date and we will call the insurance company on Monday. I have sent a one line email to the woman and did not say what I really wanted to say. Stay calm and non confrontational, as Tradie Brother reinforced to me.

  2. It's entirely possible the tree is stressed enough from weather conditions to randomly drop a large limb, but "help" to do so can't be ruled out either, best to check it over carefully.

    1. River, yes it just could be a huge coincidence. The wind was really bad there a couple of days ago. No one knows exactly when it came down.

  3. Might also be worth checking to see if you can spot any cameras that would overlook this area. :)

I hope your suspicions are incorrect but in any case you will just have it repaired, I hope. :)

    1. Snoskred, I am pretty sure there are not and she is not stupid. Yes, insurance will pay but there will be the excess to pay.

  4. My ex husband once was trying to drop a tree and it fell on the neighborhood's power lines. He pretended not to know anything about it! There are many reasons why he is my ex, but that is one of them. No one had power for almost a day!

    1. Maribeth, tree removal is not cheap, and there is a good reason for that. It takes some skill, clearly one that your ex did not have.

  5. Fortunately, no one was injured by the falling tree limb.

Have a good week, Andrew. :)

  6. That was a coincidence. At least no one was injured and the insurance will pay out.

    1. Sami, indeed it was. The insurance is quite complicated but we have began the process.

    1. WW, the house next door with the difficult owner is vacant, which yes, is just as well.

    2. Not sure that god had much to do with it. It was an old tree and strong wind, all part of nature.

  8. Oh my! That really is a coincidence Andrew. I've just been back and read the whole fence/tree story. Bit sad that mum won't be going back but she really will be better looked after by your brother, if he doesn't mind her there, or even a nice older people's home.. gosh that sounds awful, not looking forward to that eventuality 😱

    1. Grace, lol, my sister quoted back to me from my mother, Andrew wants to put me in a nursing home. I said no such thing. I want her to sell the house and if she is ok at my brother's and he is ok with it, then that is fine. The fence and the fallen tree has turned into an absolute nightmare, and as oldest, I have to respond to this woman next door.

  9. The responsibilities of being the eldest can be many Andrew, in my family, even if one isn't the eldest ✨
