Funny Friday

I don't think there are too  many species of birds in the world who seem to just play for pleasure. Corellas are a sub specie of the Australian cockatoo.  Have a look at their antics on a spinning roof ventilator atop a home in Perth.

  1. I saw that and smiled. The corellas (anthromorphism at work) always strike me as such happy birds. I believe that quite a number of birds play, including the raptors, who have been captured tossing bones to each other.

    1. EC, I suppose it would be hard to tell if a cockatoo was grumpy. They always seem happy to me. Interesting about raptors. I vaguely remember seeing that on tv, now you mention it.

  2. Andrew, They certainly are playful. It begs the question if birds and animals ever get bored.
We know that dolphins love to ride the surf waves for fun.

    1. Dee, if their basic physical needs are not driving them, perhaps they do get bored. Surfing dolphins are wonderful to watch.

  5. That was great, I like how they took turns but I was waiting for them all to hop on at once.

  7. They're such characters. They appear around here in huge flocks, carrying on like drunkards. I love it.

    1. Fen, I love cocky in their variations to bits, even though they did once massacre out balcony plants and broke a pot.
