Way to hot for man and beast to be outside.
What to do? Why not watch a dvd. Sister lent us a dvd. It is years since we sat down and watched a dvd movie. The dvd is called Oddball and it was great little very Aussie movie, with a good bit of humour and some sad moments. Mother has seen it three times and Little Jo has seen it five times. I try not to watch trailers before seeing a movie, so it is up to you if you watch this and you think you may see the movie at some point.
I bought this in a sale before Christmas but haven't watched it yet. Do not tell me the dog dies, I could handle one dead penguin but not the dog.
ReplyDeleteJah Teh, no the dog didn't die, and although it is a bit sad in parts, it is kind of happy sad. It is not at all graphic. Little Jo would not watch it if it was.
DeleteI have heard about this one. And am reassured to learn that others can't cope with deaths. Himself has instructions to read the last pages before giving me any books about cats.
ReplyDeleteI hope your heat eases. We are expecting some hot days tomorrow and the next. Not quite as hot as yours, but too hot for me (my sweet spot is at 14).
EC, I think Jah Teh might be remembering the death of Red Dog, or the dog in the American movie, the name of which I have forgotten. I spoke to the Senator's ex wife in the lift yesterday, and she hates the heat, as do I.
DeleteRed Dog had me crying an ocean of tears, both times I saw it.
DeleteThere's more heat coming your way, we have 41C today and last night survived the hottest night of the year, which is not as impressive as it sounds since the year is barely a week old.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen Oddballs, I will eventually, but I do spend a lot of my time watching DVDs, usually while on the computer or reading.
River, tonight will be killer hot here and we will leave the air con on overnight and bugger the ceiling fans. Cool change arriving between 10am and 11 tomorrow, we are promised. That was this morning's forecast though. It may have changed. Oddball was a movie I sat down and watched without distractions, a rare thing for me.
DeleteWe have the cool change now, going outside is quite comfortable after yesterday, so you will get it too in due time.
DeleteI don't know what is better too hot or too cold ?? We have -6 °C here and it has snowed so I am locked in too, I think I prefer the heat, at least the sun is shining !
ReplyDeleteGattina, here we say, you can always put more clothes on to stay warm outside when it is cold, but you can't do much about the heat outside. But then we don't get the cold temps you get.
DeleteTwo members of our golf group have red hair and white skin. We will NOT be playing in the morning.
ReplyDeleteJoe and Hels
Indeed not, Hels.
Deletewow too hot but in Europe is a severe winter even in countries which are hotter thamn Poland like Italy..
ReplyDeleteGosia, yes I was surprised about snow in Sicily.
DeleteI love he trailer looks funny
ReplyDeleteLooks good Andrew, just the kind of afternoon movie for a hot day, or a cold rainy day also.. 'If you want the biscuit you've got to risk it' ☺☺ I like that line, might have to remember it for future use!
ReplyDeleteGrace, yes, it was a good line.
DeleteLooks good from the trailer
ReplyDeleteStrayer, probably a limited appeal overseas and it certainly would not have had a huge budget, but so many of successful films have not had a large budget.
