The Gaurdian reports that people of Brussels were requested not to tweet about security operations should they observe anything happening. The good burghers of Brussels obliged and instead posted cat photos.
There are some great photos in the article.
Go here to The Guardian to take a look.
Cats rule. Love the Darth Vader cat, but am a bit disturbed by some of the others. Like the one with lipstick.
ReplyDeleteEC, yes, it one thing to dress a cat. Quite another to make them up.
DeleteThey're all so cute. Supercat to the rescue!
ReplyDeleteRiver, I hope the photos broke the mood in Brussels.
Deletegreat nation I like them
ReplyDeleteGosia, which them do you like? The Dutch or French speakers?
DeleteI saw some great cats on Twitter to do with Belgium. There must have somethings going on near one of the people who twittered, because each cat photo told the story of what was happening. Very clever.
ReplyDeleteMargaret, I am so dim. I did not pick that up, but it makes sense.
DeleteI loved this, i spent a good deal of time going through posts on twitter!
ReplyDeleteFen, as Twitter fiends would.
DeleteAnyway our government is overdoing it ! They are completely illogical ! Today it's still level 4 (the highest terrorist level) and everything "should" remain closed except !!! schools and the metro ! We are a bit lost and make fun of it now ! Tourists take pictures with soldiers and policemen in famous places, and now I read in a newspaper what is open and what not despite the interdiction, but most of the shops and even the museums and theatres opened again ! It's crazy !
ReplyDeleteThe terrorist must rub their hands ! What a result !
Gattina, I suspected that. As I said on your blog, it must be hurting the economy. I can only conclude the shut down goes on for political advantage.
DeleteA perfect antidote to all that is going on int his mad world at the moment.
ReplyDeleteCraig, since I wrote that, it has become much worse with Turkey shooting down a Russian jet. It is indeed a mad mad world.
DeleteThanks for drawing my attention to catmania on twitter. Haven't laughed so much in ages. I am in awe at how they managed to get the cats dressed and sitting still, I can't managa to do that with my granddaughter!
ReplyDeleteFun60, I can never recall having a cat that would take to being dressed up. Perhaps they drug them a bit, but of course that is not appropriate when dressing toddlers.
DeleteIt's nice to see a bit of humour even if it is short lived.. Some of those pussy cats are so darn cute :)
ReplyDeleteGrace, I think people doing happy things like this might upset the terrorists who want everyone to be too scared to function.
