We left our New York apartment at 9pm Monday and we arrived home at 11pm Thursday. While we somehow lost a day when crossing the date line, we did spend a lot of time travelling back. 15 hour flight, 7 hours in Hong Kong, 10 hour flight. That's 32 hours of just airport travel, never mind travel to and from the airport. We are pretty whacked and I am about to shower and go to bed.........except I should just be getting up New York time.
There were no holiday disasters. We did not forget anything and neither of us became gravely ill. We weren't pickpocketed or mugged in New York.
It is 1.21 Friday as this is written. Normal blog transmission will begin in the near future. Excuse me while I indulge my self with a piping hot and gushing water wasting shower and my own bed.
Oh thank the deities.. :) You have been much missed!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear you are home in one piece.
ReplyDeleteGosia welcome online again. Sleep well at your zone time
ReplyDeleteWelcome home.
ReplyDeleteHurrah, you're home!
ReplyDeleteWelcome home. I am really looking forward to hearing more about your trip.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed NY as much as we did. Before we visited the place, i didn't know what all the fuss is about. Now I wouldn't mind living there for a little while. I love Chicago too.
ReplyDeleteI have never felt threatened in new york.... San fransisco yes new york never
ReplyDeleteHello again weary traveller. I'm sure you will have a few tales to tell. Sleep well - then start composing. Good to see you back.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a pretty good trip, welcome home.
ReplyDeleteMerle...........
We have returned to Vancouver; our end of tour cruise concluded this morning. We are spending the night here at the the hotel we stayed to commence the holiday. We fly for home tomorrow (Thursday, Vancouver time) at 23.40hrs and missing out on a Friday altogether we are due in Sydney at 08.15hrs Saturday morning. Fifteen hours or so flying.
ReplyDeleteVictor, when we booked there were good reasons for choosing the long flight, but I can't remember now. 15 hours is much more civilised.
DeletePiping hot and gushing are the best types of showers.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear there were no dramas in New York or anywhere else.
Now get some sleep.
hmmm 1.21 Friday hasn't arrived yet! But never mind. The cold July weather will sharpen your mind and bring some focus. Last Sunday was the coldest and wettest day since 1980!
ReplyDeleteRe Victor, I still think Vancouver is stunningly gorgeous.
What a sharp eye you have Hels, or were others too polite to mention the error :-P
DeleteThanks all.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back ! After 32 h travelling and waiting I would be dead !
