Go is ok, but so much nicer when you don't stay with someone and have the refuge of your own personal accommodation.
More later, of course and with photos, but I am so looking forward to my own bed tonight (Sunday), and in the morning my very non water frugal shower. Lol, there was a time when I had to be scrupulously showered on a Saturday night. Memories............
When I was a yoof, I can remember hearing the mother of one of my friends saying that when she was away she missed her own bed and pillow. I mentally sneered. And for many a long year I have mentally apologised. I do like the comforts of home.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good weekend away though.
EC, it is funny to recall what our seniors were like when we were young and how we think of it now. Great weekend.
DeleteAndrew, March is very busy for me too. It is crazy Buit it is nice sped time away from home sometimes.
ReplyDeleteGosia, well you are extra busy with a new place. March will be crazy for you.
DeleteSay what you like, it’s nice to go away but it’s even nicer to get back to one’s own four walls.
ReplyDeleteFriko, I guess there comes a point when you no longer go away and stay at home with your own comforts.......and then there is death.
DeleteGoing away makes the green grass of home greener.
ReplyDeleteStrayer, quite so. Home is more appreciated after being away and the longer you are away, the better it is.
DeleteI'm not a fan of water saver showers either. I installed a saver shower head in my previous home and after a week switched it back for the original one. Compensated by sponge bathing on days I wasn't going out or to work.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to photos of your time away.
River, showering, as well as being for cleaning the body, is restorative when one is tired. More than a trickle of water is needed.
DeleteNothing like your own bed and shower.
ReplyDeleteOh agreed! Sharing a friend's house is cheap and convenient, but there is nothing like the private comforts of home. I was in Geelong for the long weekend and loved every bit of the holiday, but the shower was too cold for me and the bed was too concave.
DeleteDiane, succinctly put.
DeleteHels, that is that is what I was saying. Nice and kind people who make you welcome, but it is not home.
Lovely to go away, but nothing is better than home.
ReplyDeleteWA, too right. We set our homes up how we like them to be.
DeleteEven the lure of Paris won't keep me away from home for too long Andrew :) I agree, staying with people isn't always easy. Dave always asks us to stay when we go over to Sydney, but as P says his days of sleeping on an air mattress are so over :) Enjoy your comfy bed!
ReplyDeleteGrace, I don't think I have ever slept on an air mattress and nor do I intend to. It is nicer to have your own space when travelling.
