There are only ten questions and as a proud Melburnian naturally
Dog Jack is staying with us. While I woke bleary eyed and collapsed into the computer chair this morning after turning on the kettle and heating, Jack bounded out of bed, ran around and wanted me to throw his ball. Why don't humans wake and bound out of bed? Well, some do I suppose, but no-one I know.
Andrew, it is advantage of having dog for a while. My dog wakes up at 6 a.m. no problem during weekday but at the weekend especially in the late autumn or winter ( -20 C degrees) it 's lovely experience. Dogs are lovely but nor in the mornings.
ReplyDeleteGosia, yes. A little nuisance in the mornings.
DeleteI scored 4 and they were all guesses.
ReplyDeleteVictor, you did not know one answer for sure? Are Sydneysiders the equivalent of Americans who don't know anything outside of the US?
DeleteI scored worse than Victor ;-(
DeleteNot biting, Andrew
DeleteAd Rad, go back to where you came from, Canberra wasn't it.
DeleteI'm offended and laughing at the same time.
DeleteSorry Dina. Humour often depends on stereotypes. I am not sure that Australians have a much better knowledge of the world.
DeleteSure we do have better knowledge of the world; Austria is in Europe and doesn't have kangaroos - Schwartznegger notwithstanding.
DeleteYes Chris, definitely no kangaroos in Austria, as the signs everywhere kept telling us.
DeleteChildren often seem to wake firing on all cylinders too. Not me, I need a quiet period to get my head in some sort of order before I can face the day with any equanimity.
ReplyDeleteEC, some children do, like my young niece, but I can remember very sleepy children in the morning too.
DeleteThere is always so much to learn ,,, and then to remember *sigh*.
ReplyDeleteApparently Bentleigh was named after Sir Thomas Bent, one of the fattest, most apolitical, colourful and corrupt politicians in Victorian history. Who knew?
Hels, while I know well enough Bent, it never occurred to me that Bentleigh was named after him. Obvious really. Was my family's stamping ground.
DeleteI would flunk the Melbourne test. Take Jack for a walk in the mornings but I guess it would be too cold down there in fridge land.
ReplyDeleteDiane, it is not something we have a choice about. He must go for a walk in the morning to attend to physical needs.
DeleteHeard your weather has not been too crash hot of late.
H'mm, 8/10 on the Melbourne quiz wasn't bad, I missed the hottest day (think I was out of town, even out of the country on that day) and Moomba. Not bad for a 'New Australian'? As for mornings, I need an hour of perfect silence, two large cups of tea and yesterday's newspaper to get me started. Dogs and Grandkids are slowly getting the message.
ReplyDeleteNot bad at all Chris. I too like peace and quiet in the morning, well most of the time really.
DeleteI feel dogs and highrise living don't necessarily go together Andrew and yet when I lived in an apartment in Paris for a month nearly everyone in the building had a dog.. explains a lot about the poop in the Paris streets (which I DID stand in to the amusement of local onlookers)..
ReplyDeleteGrace, you may be surprised but I never saw any dog crap in Paris. Maybe it was the area we were in. There would be more than a dozen dogs living in our building and all seem quite content.
