Eerie

I can see a role for this wheel in Midsomer Murders and theremin music will not be needed as the wheel creates its own spooky sound. Just imagine a dead body going around and around in a pod until it is discovered.

A three minute amateur piece about the abandoned amusement park in the old East Berlin can be found here. It is unsafe to fix the wheel in position as wind could then blow it over.

  1. Wow, who knew Old East Berlin would have had amusement parks. We Westerners were propaganda'd into thinking their lives were totally miserable.
Polanski would love it and it must have been in a horror movie at some stage.

  3. went to search and it's spooky possums that the only horror/assassin movie made there (2011 Hanna)has Eric Bana and Cate Blanchett in it, and two movies have used the amusement park at Glenelg, it is the only Spreepark in Chermany.

    1. Ann, while I trust you of course, I had to check for myself about Hanna. Very interesting. Yes, Magic Mountain at Glenelg, I remember that but it was gone when we were there two years ago.

  4. That is a bit spooky Andrew. Makes me think about "On the Beach" which scared the sh** out of me when I was young and which I still find rather spooky (that venetian blind message for example).

    1. Craig, I haven't seen the movie but of course it was made here in Melbourne and Ava Gardner did NOT say it was a good place to make a film about the end of the world.

  5. Eerily post-apocalyptic. Maybe the propaganda was right, or not really propaganda at all.
Bet they didn't have a trampoline...

  7. Haha! isn't it funny how a hushed dramatic voice over and the appropriate scary musical touches can be so effective in upping the 'scare factor'.. fun post Andrew :)
