The person who forgot to step backwards

How good is our Prime Minister? She has sent an old dinosaur, ex Prime Minister John Howard, to the funeral of another old dinosaur, ex PM of England, one Baroness Thatcher. Good call Julia. A has been from the twentieth century attending a funeral for a has been of someone from the same twentieth century..

  2. Nicely put. I've thought lately Julia would turn up to the opening of a fridge just to get her face in the paper, but in this case she has done the right thing and kept her distance.

    1. It would be bad taste for any Labor person to go, methinks FC.

  3. Quite a clever decision. A former Prime Minister makes a suitable representative. Picking one from the Conservative side, especially an admirer of the deceased, saves the blushes a current Government Minister who would risk accusations of hypocrisy if they were the representative.

    1. Exactly so, Victor. It would be very rude of us to send absolutely noone, I suppose. So this was a perfect solution.

    2. Victor, did anyone come from England for Menzies funeral?

      Hels, yes a good decision.

  4. According to Wikipedia Prince Charles came to Menzies' funeral. You'll recall that President Johnson came to Menzies' successor (Harold Holt's) funeral thus forcing the British to up their representation which I think once again was Prince Charles.

    1. Thanks Victor. I do recall Johnson coming here for Holt's funeral. I don't think we will see anyone too important at Gough's.
