Finishing Footscray

Just a few photos to wrap up my short visit to Footscray.

These two are Kensington actually where some thought the trees in the summer needed to be kept warm.

Remember this quite nice photo taken where freight trains in Footscray enter or exit the Bunbury Street Tunnel?

The other end isn't as attractive.

Of course I should have crossed the bridge and taken a better photo of this fine looking rotunda, but it was a bit warm and I had already walked a long way.

  1. At least our trees only get winter woollies. Thank you for your long hot walk.

  2. I remember seeing a lot of yarn bombing when I was in Melbourne. Funny how one photo stirs up lots of memories. Keep cool. Feature on the news tonight about the poor air quality in Melbourne. Thinking of you both.

  3. Inner city trees will have winter coats put on them for the homeless. But it can be quite funny to be walking down the street and see trees wearing coats!

  4. Footscray. Bunbury. British and Australian place names sometimes make me smile.

  9. I'm surprised the tree scarves haven't been handed to the homeless by now. I once thought about doing a bit of yarn bombing myself, but I never got around to it and now it's too late, the fingers can't knit anymore, not without aching badly for days after.

  10. A rotunda surrounded by lawn and trees is a delight in summer. Every suburb needs more trees.

    1. I believe most of them are for the homeless to help them through the winter.
