Monday Mural

This is quite a large mural in South Kensington. I noticed it as I passed by in a train and returned to take photos. I really don't know South Kensington, although Kensington itself is nice enough and we have visited the inner suburb a few times over the years. I recall ex blogger Kath Lockett now of Geneva lived in Kensington.

As I was back at the station on my way home, four school boys were on the platform near to me. One was perhaps 16 or 17 and a very nice looking tall blond lad, not that I was taking any notice. He had everything going for him, yet as the train pulled in, he yelled out loudly, jumped up from the platform and made it look like he was going to slam his fist into the front of the train windscreen. How terrible for the train driver. What makes young men do things like that? Showing off to mates perhaps? Very ugly behaviour.

It is probably a good mural but doesn't excite me much.

  1. The mural, while not exciting, is easier on the eyes than a plain concrete wall. You have reminded me to get off my lazy fundament and check out some murals around here.
Sigh on the young man, with apparently a lot going for him. Showing off is my guess, but what a sad way to do so.

  2. Indeed the murals are not exciting but cute ! I like them. The young man was probably happy to have arrived and jumped of joy ! You know that's not so terrible, at least he didn't agress somebody, as it often happens here.

    1. Gattina, he would have given the train driver a terrible fright. I know about such things.

  3. Wow he could have given that train driver a heart attack. It has happened with sudden shock. I do like butterflies so I like those murals.

  5. I learned from my two brothers, and from my three male first cousins in the house next door, that young boys are careless with their fists and feet. Plus they take stupid risks that no young girl would take, ever! No wonder females live 3.5 years longer, on average.

The trouble is that just as adolescent males should be getting more intelligent and less aggressive, their hormones kick in. So a late teen/early 20s boy can do just as much damage as a silly school boy :(

    1. Hels, so true about young men. When I think of what I did when I was young, it is a wonder I survived.

    1. Lee, more than that. There was some badness in this bloke to do such a thing. Yet I doubt he paid his fare and and was depending on the train to get him somewhere.

  9. I like the mural, but not that boy's behaviour. I still miss Kath Lockett, wonder if she's ever coming back to Australia?

    1. River, I noted KL made a comment on your blog. She hasn't on mine, but it sounds promising. What a huge cultural adjustment it would be for them, especially the daughter.

  11. What a shame that good looking boy did that or pretended he was going to hit the window, I'm with you, showing off and no respect.
Don't mind that mural, it's different.

    1. Margaret, I wonder if in twenty years he will wonder about his behaviour.

    2. Just as likely in twenty years he will tell the story with a swagger and possibly some embellishment . . . I know middle aged men who still act like that. Fortunately they are not people I have to be around very much.
