Bye bye

My hand is healing and I am no longer so worried about it. The doctor should never have said to me, your hand can amputated just as easily in England as it can be here. She sent me into panic. R eventually offered the wise advice, take off the sling and forget about it, and aside from still covering it over because it is so ugly, that is pretty well what I have done.

It is nearly midnight here. In a couple of hours we will catch a taxi to the airport and be on our way to the UK. It must be because we are older but never have we stressed so much about a holiday, for me today that I felt physically sick and could not eat my lunchtime roast pork sandwich. R is no better.

At six pm we were at a major hospital to see our newest family member. Little M and Little Em rushed to greet us and are so excited about their new brother. R held him for a while. I don't do babies. He has the second name of David, the name of his paternal grandfather and maternal grandfather's second name. His first name came through later that evening. We like it.

It was a late dinner and I fumed as I watched Four Corners, detailing the Murray Darling Basin Plan. I knew it was bad, but I did not know how bad it was.

Sister, Bone Doctor and Little Jo are probably just arriving home now after a week in Noosa, Noosha darling.

So, we are off too Old Blighty. I will be reading your posts but I don't tend to comment much and I don't post when on holidays.

  1. Have a great trip and a creative, exhilarating time in the UK.

Just as an aside, I went through the labels under each of my blog posts and "Britain" had more appearances than any other label. And it was my favourite country to live in!

  15. David is a nice name, one of my favourites. I read an article in pour newspaper about the Murray Darling Basin Plan and got a bit hot under the collar myself. All that money and nothing is any better at our end of the river after how long? Years?

  19. This is why we are not travelling so much any more. Too much stress as we get older. Not everyone seems to have this problem tho. Hope you relax and have a good time. Sorry to hear about your hand.
