No cruise post yet

I just can't seem to get my act together after our cruise. Well, we have been a bit busy. Two nights I have fallen asleep in an armchair while watching tv, woken at around 2am and gone to bed. Last night R said I was sitting at the computer until 1am. I still woke at 6.30 and rose about 8 and felt like crap all day.

I was supposed to collect R from a medical appointment at 10.00 but I received a call to say he would not be ready until 11.15. He had been fasting so we immediately went to a cafe for a bite to eat and coffee. I left my sunglasses in the cafe and had to go back for them.

I had a doctor's appointment at 4pm. I went early and had a snack and bought some things in the supermarket. Once at the doctor's surgery I was asked for my new Medicare card as the practice only had my old expired card details. Where is it? Not to be found in my wallet. How did that happen? My current wallet is very tight on cards and they don't fall out. I don't even remember getting a new card in February. Only ten minutes wait and talk time to Medicare and a new card will be sent within two or three weeks. Doctor said my blood pressure was a bit high. I was not surprised. No Andrew, said Doc, where you had your heart stress test has not sent on the information on to me. Another thing to deal with.

Then there is Wordpress. Don't take this personally if you use WP as I know it my fault and I think Wordpress is superior blogging platform. I have tried and tried to get my Blogger identity right for Wordpress over my desktop, phone and tablet, but I just can't do it. I have two Wordpress identities and I can't seem to make Wordpress understand that one is an old one I no longer want to use. So many times I have written comments, only for them to disappear because of my identity issues.

There is another card disaster that happened on our cruise, but I will tell you about that later. Early night for me. The world can get stuffed.

  3. I use WordPress, and honestly, I hate it. I wish there was another good platform I could use.
I haven't been sleeping well at all. Very restless.
Take care of your blood pressure.

    1. Mariebeth, your blog is working fine for me now. I guess we all go through periods of restlessness.

    1. Marie, it seems to take an increasing amount of time to get back to normal now I am older. I am fine.

  5. I think WordPress is superior for blogging too, but it is such a challenge. At least for me, so I'm still with google. Sigh. Hope you had a great cruise and get rested.

    1. Sandra, I think you have a lot more control with Wordpress, but I am fine with Blogger and would not want to go through the pain of changing.

  6. Well you had a day then!
Have a WP too but rarely use it as I can't warm to it.

    1. Margaret, it was a day indeed. Blogger is pretty easy to use even though it doesn't have the superior functions of WP.

  7. I often feel like the world can get stuffed. Maybe you could drill a tiny hole in the corners of your cards and have eyelets inserted at a bootmakers, then you can string them on your keychain so you don't lose them? I'm kidding of course, that would make your keychain far too bulky and awkward.

    1. River, yes, an ugly solution to not a big problem. My old wallet was much looser with cards and I did lose a card once many years ago. This one is so tight, it is hard to imagine how the card could have fallen out. I expect I mucked up somewhere about my Medicare card.

  8. I did find your comment in the end Andrew - why it had gone into the moderation folder I've no idea.
Mind you I'm having trouble with others going into the spam folder....and for some reason i can't reply to comments on the blog.
Hopefully it will sort itself out in the next few days - it better or I'm not going to be a very happy Wordpress camper !!

    1. Cathy, once I did post my comment, all should have been well, except you say it went to your moderation folder. That could be because of my changed identity. I got to sorting out WP on the desktop today, but haven't done my phone and tablet yet.

You don't normally reply to comments, I thought.

  9. It would be easy for the Clinic to update your card without you needing to have it, just increase the last digit by 1 and bingo!
There is a great app you can use on your mobile - Stocard -for all cards with a barcode at the back. Scan them in and then you no longer need to carry all the cards.

    1. Sami, except it increased by two digits. When I gave the receptionist the expiry date, she said so the last digit will be 8. No, it is 9. I'll have a look at this Stocard. I don't think I have many cards with barcodes.
