Let it Begin

Have you made your cucumber sandwiches? Have you poured yourself a Pimms? The strawberries are hulled for later? Sit down and stay cool/warm enjoy the Australian Open coming to you from Melbourne. Err, if Rupert allows you.

I may even watch a little myself.

  1. Not for me. I will be hunkered down with a book. Even looking at people involved in energetic pursuits is too hot for me.

  3. Enjoying Raffie leading 1 set to love right this very moment. To his credit Mr Duckworth is putting up a brave fight and has shown us some good shots.
No Pimms in the house - might have some ginger beer instead.

    1. Cheryl, I did learn today that Ash is female and not male. Beyond that, I know nothing.

  6. I'm definitely watching (I recorded 4 hours worth over night). But I'm not sure about the cucumber sandwiches. I making nems (eggrolls) today. Will that do? :)

    1. Eggrolls sound very nice Walt. Googling nems was interesting, especially as I am hungry and it is time for dinner.

  10. The grunting sounds by players when they hit the ball is annoying to me. Not that I've watched a tennis match in over two decades. Maybe the grunts no longer happen.

    1. Strayer, now worse, is the shrieks by women. I am not sure if there are shriekers this year.

    2. As if the grunting wasn't bad enough!
