Sigh. It happens, I know it happens, but it is sad.
EC, at least with us it is a slower process than with many buildings.
Well, you got some, anyway...comments, that is! :)
Lee, I would have been shattered if I didn't.
The lower image looks like the building just needs a coat of paint and some gardening. Shame about the cinema though, probably got replaced by one of those huge multi-screen complexes.
River, as the photos were together, I am guessing that perhaps the building is the theatre. Maybe, maybe not. Could have been a multi screen, which I rather like, or a block of smart apartments, to use R's and my term.
I mind mostly when the place is an old favourite that we always patronised and loved. To let it go to ruin, then destroy the lot and build a nasty Mackers is a loss all around :(
Hels, when a building is rather special to a community, developers will buy it and let it decay. My term, maybe original maybe I read it somewhere, demolition by neglect. Btw, if you are going to make disparaging remarks about McDonalds, and please do, get the spelling correct so it is picked up by media monitors, Maccas. Funnily in England they call it Macky D.
Oh dear! That's a wee bit how I felt this weekend Andrew. Had dinner when we were in Scarborough on Saturday night, it didn't stay with me for too long 😶
Oh dear, Grace. Is Scarborough at all relevant? That was when you tried to go to Cottesloe and ended up at Scarborough instead.
It was. Not sure if I can actually blame the meal, P had the same thing and was fine! We'll never know 😀
