Unexpected - and a heap of fun. Mind you, I hope I can think of other 'last wishes'.
EC, I think I would be happy enough with strudel at the end.
I love Vienna and love strudel, but still become anxious about the death of parents.
Hels, and why should you not be. Your father had a rough death, which was very rough on you, I am sure.
I enjoy the Jewish sense of humour. Like Aussies do (or once enjoyed doing) they enjoy taking the Mickey out of themselves.I was employed by a Jewish-owned company for 14 years...from 1965 through to 1979. They were great to work for, too.
Exactly what I think Lee, and did you get those extra holidays on Jewish religious days?
I took very few holidays, Andrew...and never a sickie, either. In the whole 14 years I worked for the Kolotex Group of Companies, I took about 6 weeks off...maximum. And some of that time was to attend the funeral of my mother...to visit my Nana just before she passed away, and then again to attend her funeral. And, I took a couple of days off to attend my brother's wedding back in 1967.I took 4 days off as a honeymoon after my first wedding - I married on the rebound when my fiancee Randall headed overseas to fulfill his long-held dreams. And then, I took a week off when Randall came home after 9 years living and working in New York. We went up to Sunshine Beach, near Noosa. And, that was about it!! Not taking holidays was of my own choosing because I had so much going on work, and was a major player in what was going on...it was far more interesting and exciting than holidaying! :)And this has turned out to be quite a lengthy response...sorry! :)
Lee, I don't mind long replies. They usually give a little more away about a person than what you already know, haha. My absolute favourite bloggers are always the ones who write about personal stuff. While I understand what you mean, in my job, I just hang out for any time I am not working. After doing the same job for 39 years, it is pointless saying I should get a job I like. Apparently I am in the negative for holidays, -3 weeks. Better start using up long service leave, and I am.
Bug*er; the joke is unavailable here!!!!
Cro, why does that happen? Well, I know literally why. It is blocked to European and English. But really, I do understand why it would be blocked.
oh I laughed at that one. I've heard similar before but didn't remember until the punch line.
River, same here, I think I have heard something like that before but I did not remember.
Eh! Jewish humour is the best 😀😀😀😀
I agree Grace.
Glad to hear Merle.
