Efftard Drivers

Can you see the bike lane?

Not everyone can. How do these people ever pass the driving licence test?

Later edit: A couple of days later a sole car did the same thing. As you can see in this photo below, the conflict point is clearly marked with green paint. Perhaps that should be extended.

  2. Perhaps they need to pant bicycle symbols all the way along the bike lane, that way no one can say we didn't see a symbol so didn't know.

  5. Bike lanes in Sydney are painted green along the entire length.

    1. Allan, that's interesting. Here the green paint only goes down at points of conflict. I know the paint is very expensive but it seems it would be a good idea here.

    2. Green along the entire length here too, but only in the CBD I think.

  6. Oh dear me, the bike sign should be all a long that bike lane, hope they do it soon before someone gets knocked off their bike!

    1. Margaret, you are correct. My post was tweeted by someone today a large readership, perhaps by politicians too.

  7. No doubt CCTV has them on film, and a hefty fine will be heading their way.

    1. Hehe, you made a joke Cro. Our city's traffic relies on people doing the right thing, which they often don't. There is little policing of minor matters.

    1. Ad Rad, I really hope not. Most of the bike crashes are with opening card doors.

  13. Yep should be green all the way but then you don't have to be too smart to work out its a bike lane. No wonder cyclists are up in arms about road safety for cyclists.

    1. Diane, not to defend anyone, but it is a quite complicated intersection if you are not familiar with it.

    1. Grace, it all looked ok on the plans but they are theory, not practice.
