Almost a free ad

Something lighter today.

Most cruise ships don't have a lot of external hull decoration. We were surprised to see this rather colourful ship in Mykonos earlier this year.

I saw a similar ship recently at Port Melbourne's Station Pier. I believe the one above is the Norwegian Star and the one visiting here was the Norwegian Jewel.

There really do look terrific. They are all displayed without further clicking at the company website.

As a (male) tourist, arriving soon in Melbourne (not by ship thank goodness), what is acceptable wear on the streets of the city. Roderick

    1. Roderick, pretty well anything and our dress is inclined to be very casual. You are unlikely to need a jacket or woolens here at this time of the year.

    2. Actually, take two. Make sure you have a light jacket not buried at the bottom of your suitcase.

  5. Roderick, we live in a weird country, 21 and rain today but last week 42 degrees and melting. You can't go wrong with board shorts and thongs or snow jacket and Ugg boots.

You make a rotten tourist guide Andrew.

    1. Roderick, take no notice of her. Her brain is addled by too much gin over too many years.

  6. Hels thinks the ship looks gorgeous. I think it looks like sea sickness waiting to happen.

    1. Jo, I do recall Hels mentioning your had issues with with the sea and your level of personal comfort, shall we say. Those big new ships, you barely notice any movement.

  7. Those cruisers are gorgeous! They should be called party ships.

  8. River, you are so right. They create a party feel to the ships.

    1. Grace, amused is not the right word but as if any Norwegians would want to move to Trumpet's America.

    1. Margaret, not that our ship wasn't very nice, I think these Norwegian ones must be pretty good too.
