Peelin' the spuds

I simply must have one of these. R won't last forever and if I have to cook for myself and peel a potato, I will reduce its size to half. I don't think I have peeled a potato for about three decades. The presenter is rather amusing. Can the machine peel a pineapple, or my grape?

  1. My gimmick loving partner would buy that in a heartbeat. Despite the fact that we longer peel potatoes. And have never peeled apples.

    1. EC, we have mashed potatoes often enough and you need to peel for that, but otherwise they are generally with the skins on. I don't peel apples.

    2. I don't peel potatoes for mash either.

    3. Oh, I will consult household management about that when he wakes from his arvo nap.

  2. Just eat them with the skin on - problem solved.

    1. Agreed totally, Fun. Buy potatoes with thin skins, wash to remove dirt, cut out any blemishes and boil in water or fry in oil.

'Peel me a grape' said Mae West in I'm No Angel. I've seen your avatar image and you are no Mae West. But I was wondering about that gun in your pocket. - Ian

  4. I like the spelling of 'poteto' too. I'm in the no-peel camp.

    1. Cro, I thought peteto was perhaps a translation, more likely a mistake.

  5. Peeling a potato isn't that hard Andrew, you just need several practise sessions. Today is a good time to start.
    I love mashed potatoes.
You're kidding about peeling grapes right?

    1. River, I do not need practice to peel a potato. I am not doing it. Yes, it peeling a grape is a line from a movie.

  6. Boom this is awesome 😀😀 No seriously come on Andrew, it'll just be one more annoying thing you'll have to find space for. I never take the skin off potatoes anyway, or apples. I can't remember the last time I had mashed potatoes, probably because I don't want to peel potatoes 😀

    1. Grace, I do like my mashed spuds, with butter, cream and little mayo. Yes, we have a few things like that we don't use, or rarely.

  7. That's so cool! HOwever, I wonder how long the blade stays sharp and if you can easily change the blade.

    1. Strayer, yes image the mess it could make with a dull blade.
