Musical Monday

River may join me this Monday for Musical Monday. I was nearly going to add this to my post with photos of Naples, as the song begins with a reference to Napoli.

There is something about Ms Loren, and I am one of the last people who could objectively judge the sexiness of a woman, but yes, there is just something about her. As well as having a bright and catchy tune, check some of the gorgeous clothes and cute men in the clip too. It is a compilation of movie scenes set to the music. 2:54

    1. Gosia, perhaps a golden time in Italy if you had money.

Better still, Sophia and Peter Sellers doing Goodness Gracious Me, one of the most unexpected pairings in Hollywood. www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nTBNHwar5o
The song was produced by George Martin before he met the Beatles. - Ian

  5. And she still is a beautiful-looking woman...."It Started in Naples"...fun movie with Clark Gable, I remember seeing it at a Saturday afternoon matinee when I was a young teenager...shortly after I started working!

    1. Dearest Lee, you are giving your age away. I must google her to see what she looks like now.

    2. I'll be 73 on 11th November, 2017, Andrew...I can't give my age away, because it sticks with me.

I don't hide from who I am or my age. I spent this past Saturday afternoon celebrating the birthday of a friend's mother....my friend's mother turned 100 years of age... :)

  6. And then she went and married Carlo Ponti. I was heartbroken.

  7. Excellent music! Usually mid 1950s songs were less exciting and less appealing.

    1. Hels, yes, the 50s are not my period at all. I think we actually lost some artistic creativity after the war.

    1. Sami, there is a Jewish word to describe what I think about her, but I can't spell it. Thanks.

  9. LOVE it :D
That bit where she's dancing with a small boy is from the movie Houseboat, a favourite of mine that I'd forgotten about. I think the male star is Cary Grant.

  11. I loved this clip, so much fun. Sophia Loren is such an icon. Did you ever see HouseBoat? Really, an old one, but a fun film.
    Have a great one, Andrew.

  12. River, I may have seen it. In fact I am sure I have. That Grant was in it reminded me.

Grace, she looked like she could dance well too.

Sandra, yes, eventually I remembered I have seen the movie. It was fun.
