Elaine Moir

(I had no text here. I think she died and in the 70s organised the air lift of orphans to Australia from Vietnam)

  1. I looked her up. In the 1970s she took on the Government about their callous attitudes towards orphaned children of other nationalities. And won. After already winning a fight to re-enter Australia with her two children. She had married and subsequently divorced a Thai national and our country decided by marrying him she had relinquished her Australian citizenship.
Sigh. The more things change. We need more Elaine Moirs.

    1. EC, thanks. I knew she was worthy of a a post. Pity I didn't do it, but at least you have given a few details.

  2. Well that was a very short read. Luckily there is EC's comment to follow it :)

    1. River, you have given me an idea. Start a post and let others do the work to finish it.
