Sagrada Family?

We are thinking of staying in a hotel in Barcelona next year owned by the Sagrada Family. I know nothing of the family and I can look it up as easily as you can, but do you know anything of the family?

From Google Maps there seems to be a number of businesses owned by them, a cathedral with their name and a Metro station. For extra points, did the family collaborate with General Franco?

  4. You remember when Gaudi was crossing the road on foot and fell under a tram? Sagrada Familia was so uniquely the product of Gaudi's brain, who else could have to wished the project?

It was, in fact, a young Australian architect who was responsible for taking over Sagrada Familia from the 1970s on. Mark Burry is a bit of a hero, whether you like Gaudi's original vision or not.

  5. I've never heard of them and is that their cathedral? It's very mixed in styles. Where is Barcelona anyway? Off to get out my Atlas, aha! there's two Barcelonas, one in Spain and one in Venezuela. So which one are you going to?
