Hot Celebs

I have confessed in the past to at times having feelings like a prepubescent girl or boy, lusting after male celebrities and popstars. An old episode of the British tv show Vera was on our tv today. Oh, I do like David Leon in Vera. I googled him. I pointed out some photos to R. Oh, he said, I googled him some time ago. R is nearly as bad as me. Well, R and David are both Geordies so that may have stimulated R's interest. I tried to establish whether David had a nice body was married, but I could not. That raises suspicions.

While I tend to prefer youthful looks, for some reason I find the older black guy in Death in Paradise quite attractive.  A bit more googling. Ok, his name is Daniel "Danny" John-Jules. Means nothing to me. Though wow, he was Cat in Red Dwarf. I never knew.

Now I am of an age I no longer can be bothered with the messy and endlessly complicated business of actually having sex, I just admire blokes who are interesting in some way.

I am fickle and my celebrity crushes are many and I will have forgotten about them tomorrow when I come across my next celebrity crush.

Do you have a celebrity crush? Is it long time or just passing? Any mention of Kardashians by you straight blokes is not acceptable.

  1. As I confessed here a little while ago, my first (possibly only?) celebrity crush was Jon English. Sigh. He (and I) were young then, but I liked the way he aged too. And wish he could have kept aging.

    1. Merle, it was for me a 'yes, of course' moment, as it was for you too.

  3. I have many celebrity crushes although most pass with time when I wonder what it was that I saw in them (ahem, him).

David Leon is a current, ongoing, crush.

  4. Like EC, my long term crush was Jon English, I cried for days when he died and still get teary now. most recent continuing crush is Ryan Eggold who plays Tom Keen in The Blacklist. I like Death In Paradise too, Danny John-Jules is Dwayne and I noticed last night, in the season final episode, he has quite a lot of grey in his beard stubble now.

    1. Indeed River, Eggold is rather handsome so google tells me. Yes, John-Jules is not so young.

  5. That is one hot black man. I don't think much about it anymore, crushes and all. But Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp would be near the top. Sam Elliot maybe. I like his mustache.

    1. Brad Pitt was so handsome, Strayer. I liked Depp when he was younger, but I think he did have a cheek to comment on the weight of our government minister when he threatened Depp's dogs. Depp is not exactly slim himself now. This is an appeal to me to a much younger Sam Elliot.

  6. I hate to sound like the Bouvier sisters but I've been watching Macgyver with the afternoon cuppa and I have to say I now remember why Richard Dean Anderson rocked my boat.

  7. David Bowie was my big crush, but others tickle my fancy a bit from time to time. Kevin Spacey is one, young or old, he has the kind of humour I enjoy. A bit prankish but in a kindhearted way and very intelligent. Hmmm. Tom Hiddleston is another, mainly because there is a slight resemblance to my sweetheart. I liked Michael Clarke Duncan in The Green Mile (he played John Coffey), but I probably would have liked anyone in that part.

I also think Julianne Moore has a quietly stunning beauty and have liked her in any part I've seen her play.

    1. Cranky, Bowie was certainly one of mine, perhaps partly because of his ambiguous sexuality, even it was just a marketing ploy. At times you can like people for other reasons than superficial beauty, so I won't critisise your choice of Spacey. Good hair and a high forehead, Hiddleston has, works for me. Duncan does not work for me at all. Not fussed on muscles. Moore is ok. It doesn't look like she has had work done, or if she has, subtle.

  8. Love both those shows, Vera and Death in Paradise. My only ongoing crush is Ewan McGregor, he has it all, looks, cheeky sense of humour AND that sexy Scottish accent!

    1. Grace, to my surprise, McGregor still looks great. Good choice. I am a bit of sucker for accents too.

  9. Currently obsessed with Aidan Turner...the current Poldark. Gorgeous and Irish (extra points) and does not take himself too seriously. Yum...
Also the guy from Outlander is worth a look.
