No email for comments

After some time spent investigating, I have concluded that if you don't receive an email when I comment on your blog, it the fault of Yahoo/Gmail/Blogger. It is a known problem but as Blogger is a free service from Google, there does not seem to be a hurry to fix the problem.

  1. I am in the middle of writing a blog post about Google after watching the documentary on iView about Google and the World Brain over the weekend.

  2. Andrew I only get an email from two people when they comment, absolutely nothing from anyone else. I find with blogger and Facebook, the only two I use, you just have to hope for the best each day :)

  3. I only have a tiny number of people who comment on my blog, usually its under three, but sometimes up to five. Of those, I get emails to alert me to everyone's comments but yours

    1. Strayer, that seems to be how it is for many.

  4. Andrew, I always receive an e-mail/alert when you or anyone comments on my blog. Eventually I always like you get round to answering them, not that I get that many. People just seem to have such busy lives.
And of course I envy your reliable followers. Blog readers can often be fickle and move on to other places.
    You'll probably outlast us all.

    1. DeeJohn, isn't blogging a great thing to be able to do as you become older. Yes, so many bloggers and commenters have come and gone and I treasure the ones who hang around.

    1. Merle, but how would you know if someone commented on a post from two years ago?

  7. I always got your comments also in emails. Now not anymore and you are the only one !! all the others work perfectly. The trouble is that I answer when I see the comment in my emails and forget to look on my blog ! Somebody told me that it is the Yahoo mail service.

    1. Gattina, I came across some further information today, and it is a deliberate policy by Google to block emails via a system that is far too complicated for me to understand. I expect in time, all will be restored.
