The Turnbull ditch list

Now we have a new Prime Minister, he needs to ditch the 'stupid old men'. As R quickly pointed out to me, I am pretty close to being an old man, but I use these words  to represent a certain sort of older male conservative politician.

Kevin Andrews. Nothing was ever proved about Dr Haneef yet night after night Andrews prosecuted the case against Haneef. There were more incidents he was involved in that did him no credit, but as I said, I am getting old and I can't remember them now. Get rid of Andrews and his lovely hat.

The ghostly  figure of Phillip Ruddock is still around? He has been so discredited over so many years. Why are we seeing him on our screens?

George Brandis, trying to sell the government home security data retention policy was hopeless. He has learnt nothing. Just last night I saw him on tv telling us Abbott's downfall was partly a communication problem. Yep George, nothing to do with policy or lack of, or the person himself.

Joe Hockey? Not so old, but so badly tainted by being Abbott's henchman, he has to go.

    1. Gosia, they are a necessary evil, but not all have bad intent.

  2. It will be interesting to see how many of them jump ship, and how many are pushed.

    1. EC, such a good opportunity to get rid of party dinosaurs.

  3. Only one day in but initial feelings are of disappointment. Turnbull has tied himself to existing Conservative polices in order to have agreement with the Nationals. Talk about the tail wagging the dog.

These are promises I hope Turnbull doesn't keep.

    1. Victor, at this stage I think he had to. See what happens in the future. I received a funny sms about Turnbull's new security detail all queuing in a shop to buy Opal cards.

  4. They are all a bit odd to me, but I don't want to do the job I would rather live in peace with myself.

    1. Hels, I think Lucy will be very cross if that doesn't happen and I expect a cross Lucy might be quite formidable.

  6. The photo of the Joe guy is awesome. Mouth open, hand up in statement or admonishment, yet frozen and silent as if stopped suddenly for all time in that pose. I love it.

    1. Strayer, the media does have a habit of catching him in awkward poses like that.

  7. I was shocked when you revealed your age recently. I thought you were in your thirties or so.

    1. Susie, is that because of the immaturity of my writing? I started late in life. I do look like I am in thirties though. (I can see eyes rolling in heads now)

  8. Getting rid of them might make you feel better, but it won't do much for the country's economy, since each will then get a hefty, yearly-for-life pension.
Unless your 'getting rid of' includes mafia style cement boots.....(*~*)

I look like I'm in my thirties too....when the lights are very dim. Or out.

    1. River, as one ages, one does prefer dim lighting. In some places we dine lights are dimmed after finishing our meals and I think ten years are removed.

I do like the cement boot option.

  9. agree with everything you said and the comments as well. just a relief not to have to hear everything repeated 3 times.
I believe Tony Abbott is either mentally ill or has brain condition, and cannot understand how medical experts have not picked up on this and told his mummy Peta to get him help.
Every politician has faults, some like Turnbull [and Obama] have bearable understandable faults, some are like Kevin Andrews. not human.
Gosh it's been hilarity over on Twitter though.
oh River I think MP pensions should be the same $20,000 p.a. that the aged and disabled get. NOBODY needs 300k p.a. especially after years of a good salary that should have set them up totally for the downhill run to death.
and Lucy Turnbull is probably telling The Womens Weekly right this moment that she does not want a glamour spread thank you.

    1. Ann, I agree. The Abbott presented very strangely with his repeats and not talking properly. I also agree with your summation about bearable faults. I think pollies do contribute to their pension, so perhaps a bit more than $20k, but a point well made. Lucy was once mayor of Sydney, but I can't remember life before Clover.

    2. Ann, I've been saying that for years about their income and pensions. We lowly people, (real people) are expected to set ourselves up but they don't have to?? So very unfair!
