Shallow? Who me?

Nothing ready to post as I am doing research for a big post, which will probably receive few comments, but that is ok. I like to learn. Luckily I have a back up reserve.

The conversation will go like this:

Bone Doctor: Andrew, who are you are supporting in the football this year?

Me: Carlton.

BD: Ok, what's his name?

Me: Bryce Gibbs.

Bone Doctor is not an admirer of the physical male and at this point will probably harrumph, snort and roll her eyes at the same time.

I really am a sad sack with my teen age girl like lust for a pretty face. Like them, I quickly get over it. He is rather handsome though, isn't he. At the age of 26, he looks better now that when he was younger. I know the feeling.

  1. Well, he's very handsome.

    1. Although, I must say, I tend to see younger men as possibly a son or grandson. Is it not that way with men?

    2. Strayer, many men wonder about the young and the beautiful, and admire them, but that is far as they would ever go. Most of them, anyway.

  2. agree there is something breathtaking about extreme physical fitness when combined with a nice face and not marred by tattoos. that 3rd picture should have a warning ahead of it though.
I am trying to think of some female that I could respond to the same way and I just can't. which is, of course, how I understand perfectly that there are also men who don't.
Speaking of 'shallow' though, just yesterday I came across a Real Housewife Of Melbourne with a stupid stupid name. somebody fed her into my Twitter stream, and I was repulsed by her vacant sloppy face. I loathed her on sight. She could be smart, but I'd bet the deeds to the ranch against it. Does getting heavily made-up and corsetted and bleached and styled and going to an expensive party for charity make her OK? she was saying how WONDERFUL the PM is. what!! he is making so many lives miserable and she likes him? I despair.

    1. Her assessment of our esteemed leader adds a LOT of weight to your assessment about her lack of smarts.

    2. Ann, from what I have heard of RHoM, they are appalling. One is a friend of Libby Gore, I heard. You shouldn't have been looking so closely at the 3rd photo!

EC, anyone who dislikes him is on their way to being my friend.

  3. Nothing wrong with shallow ~ and like you say the more frivolous posts usually get more comments. He looks better with longer hair I think.

  4. The second pic makes me want to break out into song...
    "Who wears short shorts..."

    1. Susie, is that a song? The are quite long compared to what footballers wore in the 1980s.

  5. What is shallow about admiring face and form? Admiring from a distance has the added bonus of not caring of they can carry on an intelligent conversation...

    1. Jac, yes, we aren't talking about marriage are we. More like admiring fine art, but don't look too closely for cracks.

  6. Like all footballers, I'd like to hear him speak first before I judge.
Annie O I have great respect for your judgement (you like me) so she must have been a real trough of nothing but we must give her some leeway, did she actually say which PM she liked. You know these vacuous twits live in an alternate universe.

    1. Jah The, you have me for intelligent conversation. You don't want him for his conversational skills.

  7. I will look forward to knowing more about the post you are writing. :)

As long as it isn't Collingwood. :)

    1. Snoskred, Collingwood is very photogenic. Fortunately most Collingwood supporters don't live in Collingwood.

  8. He is lovely, although I suspect that I am in the minority and prefer the short hair version. Morgan Parra, the French rugby player, is one of the top favourites in this household.

    1. Craig, rugby players are usually a little too solid and chunky for my tastes. Morgan is also a rather hairy.

    2. You say that like it's a bad thing :) He's from Portuguese stock I think so that would explain it.

  9. He doesn't look too bad from a women point of view..Footballers don't do a thing for me really. I see a whole picture there, if you know what I mean. Fussy I am, ever so fussy! Oh well, we are all different.

    1. WA, let's face we can be choosy once we have partners and become older, because we know it just ain't gonna happen.

  10. He is kinda cute looking. Looks like he smiles a lot, no frown/scowl lines on his face. That's a plus. Not too blond either.

    1. River, you like dark smouldering looks then? Anyone who smiles a lot is a winner in my book.

    2. Forget the smouldering. Dark and smiling is fine.

  11. Nice body but does he have any brains?

    1. Diane, we have our partners for their brains (ok, history too). We don't want more brains.

  12. You're certainly not the first person to select a footy team based on data other than talent, skill and good PR. A few years ago I saw kd lang in concert - I thought I could turn for her, but it wasn't based on her bod (sorry, kd!) but on her voice :D

    1. It is also how I choose my horses Red, on the rare occasions I indulge in a wager. Yes, there was a time when I could have turned for kd. Her voice is, or was, sublime.
