What a swell party it was

I suppose if you can afford to pay a couple of thousand dollars a week in rent, you would put on a pretty good party and what a swell party it was. I think it was the football grand final night. There were drinks and nibbles served by a white clad army of waiters (I reckon about one dozen), a sit down dinner for about 30 people (the table is behind the hedge), later a dj with his own dj box, and an Elvis impersonator who was very good from what we could hear and see. Aside from one upturned table, probably hired, there appeared to be no damage when I snapped the next morning.  The party must have cost thousands.

Not to be outdone, the neighbours below had a Sunday afternoon barbeque the next day. It was somewhat less lavish.

  1. I can think of some uses for handsome white coated waiters.

Serving food and drink not being one of them.

    1. Victor, I don't recall saying that they were handsome. There were some female waiters too. Too far away to see if any waiters were hot, but the odds have it that one or two may have been.

  2. Andrew,

It's a good thing they have you to keep an eye on them (for us).

Vulgar to speculate, but if the apartment comprises the rooftop area and both the penthouse storeys above I wonder if you are understating the rent for it.

    1. Marcellous, there is no such thing as vulgarity when observing what neighbours do.

No, it is that huge rooftop area and the apartment within, half the depth of the building. It's a pretty stunning place, but a bit cold. It could well rent for more than the price I mentioned. I am not sure what your equivalent is, but so nice that they brought their lions from the the suburb of Bulleen.

  3. I hope you didn't have to listen to Duff duff music all night. That is one expensive looking flat.

    1. Diane, no once inside and the door shut, we couldn't hear anything., apart from hideously loud motor bikes and emergency vehicle sirens.

  4. Hope they didn't make too much noise. A bit lavish but then many people like to be like that.

  6. That is quite the fancy-schmancy apartment! I wonder what those people would think of my humble little home? 15 steps from front door to back door and if I had longer legs it would be less. A bonus is it takes me about 5 minutes to clean, while their place probably takes hours. It does look like a nice place though, plenty of roof space for entertaining or just watching a sunset.

    1. River, I doubt they would even consider your or my homes worthy of a second look. Naturally they have staff to come in and clean. I have seen them, and gardeners too. They don't have much in the way of views though.
