An Icy Friday

I recall Gosia saying that our winters did not look so cold, and compared to Europe, they are not. However yesterday was very cold as a series of storms or fronts crossed over us, bring snow to the nearby hills and freezing blasts of cold air, rain and hail to Melbourne.

Daniel took this terrific, terrific in the old sense of the word too,  video as a storm passed through his local area of Bentleigh. He has shared it on You Tube. It's only a minute or so.

  2. Andrew, awful weather and driving in that conditions is horror. At my place that weather can be in the early winter November or early spring March. But I believe tomorrow will be better weather.

    1. Gosia, we met up with an acquaintance from Ukraine this evening. He was telling me that when he last visited, the temperature was -20 degrees. This is hard for us to imagine.

  3. Gosh that looks cold. We had a lovely sunny day here today with the same predicted tomorrow, but the wind is cold and it will get down to 2*C tonight. The wind will be frosty in the early morning and evening, same as today.

    1. River, as we Melburnians know, always look to Adelaide's weather to see what ours will be tomorrow. It will be icy here tonight but fine and sunny tomorrow. Today, Saturday, wasn't too bad here.

    1. Keith, I have disillusioned you from your mental image of fine and sunny beaches? There is really no perfect place weather wise here.

  5. Hello Andrew, it seems scarcely believable that this us your weather at the moment when we are here basking (or is it scorching) in temperatures of 30C here in Budapest.

    1. JayLa, it was one bad day. Today has been much nicer. Oh that you could have Budapest return to Soviet times and not only have such a treasure as a Communist Lift, but a Communist Air Conditioner installed too, gratis from the benevolent Communist Government. Alas, that won't happen now and you will have to sleep hot and sweaty.

  6. It was a curious day in Sydney today. Brilliantly clear and sunny and with a temperature at noon of 12.8º which is rather cool for us but the 'apparent temperature' was listed at 4.8º which is about as cold as it gets in our eastern suburbs especially for daytime.
