Mea Culpa

Personal life is ok, but I seem to have screwed up totally in online stuff over the past week. I don't suffer from depression, so I will just paint it as I am a bit sad and my bads on the internet have not helped or are perhaps symptomatic . Oh well, I expect over nearly ten years of blogging and twenty years on the net, I have offended many and said many inappropriate things, but there were a few internet things this week past where I really screwed up.

Hmm, what to do?

Shut up might be a good thing.

  5. It's hard to screw up on the internet. People can be very unforgiving.

Hopefully that's not the case for you.

I hope it all works out!

    1. Dina, they can be harsh, but generally I have found much more kindness than criticism.

  7. Cyberspace can be unforgiving for example with online messages (email, social media, etc) when the message you intended in your head and you thought you were transmitting reads in an unexpectedly different way to the receiver. We all experience it.

    1. Very unforgiving Victor, but I should know all this by now and be more careful.

  8. I fail at things (often lots of things) every day. And try not to beat up on myself too badly (often another failure). Be as kind to yourself as you can - and accept that failing makes you human.

  9. I haven't noticed any over-the-top stuff, if you're really unhappy with what you've posted, just take those posts down. I don't think you need to worry, many people use the internet as a place to vent their sadness or other problems and comments from readers can be helpful.

    1. River, I really don't like removing things, unless I have particularly offended someone personally. What I write is what I felt at a certain time.

      So have you synced yet?

    3. The last person I would want to offend, and it was a succession of smart arse mouthing off but not meant with bad intentions. It was a lesson well learnt, I hope. Thanks for picking up the nuances.
