She doesn't smoke or drink gin

Define allegory. I can't really although I am sure I know what an allegory is.

Cabaret is one of the most marvellous movies ever made. You will either have to sit through this one, not an unpleasant experience at all, or listen to a minute or so and then go to the end where you are hit with the punchline and it becomes clear it was an allegory.

  2. Gosh, I must have seen Cabaret a million times when it first came out. Not just well done but of a genre all its own.
Has it really been 40 years? There must be generations who've never even heard of it. Their loss.

    1. FC, I have seen it a few times, over the years. It is so good to see the best bits on You Tube. It wasn't my coming out movie, but it was a reinforcer.

  3. Allegory: a speech or discourse which conveys a meaning different from the original one.
