Celeb Spotting

Seen this week, Woolworths, South Melbourne, St Kilda Aussie rules footballer Nick Riewoldt. He is not as tall as he seems on tv. Nice to see him wearing some clothes.

Seen this week, Maggie Beer, Prahran Market, tv cook, author, pheasant farmer and producer of gourmet foods. She is shorter than she seems on tv, and slimmer.

  1. I saw Maggie months ago, she crossed in front of my car. I was so excited, I love her!!

  2. She must be spending a bit of time in Melbourne.

  3. Hello Andrew:
We are, we are afraid to say, hopeless at faces. We doubt that we should recognize HM The Queen!

  4. I know Maggie, loved her shows but I wouldn't have a clue who the pretty boy are. Maybe if they played soccer I would recognise them.

  5. As an addendum, I had Maggie Beer icecream just now, it was DIVINE!

  6. I've been spotting some celebs lately also. Today I sat next to Anton Enus (he was using a laptop at Taylor Square), and last week I noticed Andrew Gee (Osher Gunsberg these days) and Molly Meldrum at local cafes.

  7. C'mon JayLa. You would pretend you didn't recognise her. It is ok. I don't think she reads my writing.

Diane, Maggie seems to be a jovial person. I think they could have made one more series of The Cook and The Chef.

Fen, it is glorious ice cream. Best ever.

James, so so his first name is not Andrew either? Someone told me he was once quite fat. Anton is lovely.

  8. Gosh, I'll never go on TV if it makes me look fatter!! That will be the given reason rather than 'there were no offers'!!

    Maggie Beer!
    Wow, she is sensational.
I was told that when visiting SA you should visit here, Pheasant Farm Restaurant established 1978 in the Barossa Valley of South Australia. It is only about a 30 minute drive north of Adelaide in them "thar" hills, traffic and roadworks, of course, permitting.
Take plenty of cash, when purchasing, she is NOT cheap - and good for her and her husband, Colin. The "Colin - Collin - Colon" is neither me or the former US Defence chief of staff and then the Secretary of State! Powell and I missed out on a good meal - such a pity!
Rather bizarre coffee locations in Melbourne. I don't think I would venture there at night.

  10. Red, evidently tv does make you look taller too?

  11. Colin, Maggie is a treasure, an expensive one. Note I said nothing about Maggie plucking pheasants. I do know what her ice cream is priced at. That area of Melbourne is as safe as houses.

  12. Darn... Maggie Beer. I heart her! I have no idea who the other dude is - forgive me, I am a Queenslander!

  13. BB, Maggie is great. Who would have thought a combo of a gay professional chef and Maggie would have worked so well on tv.

  14. I loved that show, they really were odd bedfellows but it worked so well! I was on a TV show when I was about 16 as a 'go go' dancer can you believe, how hilarious.. NOW! I wonder if it made me look short and fat or tall and thin, hopefully the latter haha!
