You can click Fen and make him? a bit bigger. You can then see there are wings. So I suppose it is an insect. I know no more.

The little critter was looking for a place hide away from predators and the decided to camp near the light for warmth :-).

Then maybe it just died of ennui ...
Or swept up by a charming suitor and ran away to make babies.
