Clearing Photos 5

Long before I was born, City Hatters was trading here at Flinders Street Station in what was the Station Master's office. Long may it trade on. I believe it is owned by Henry Bucks.

Heh, funny I remember City Hatters too, didn't know it was owned by Henry Buck though, interesting.

Always remembered as a kid the bowler hats shown in the window, and fascinated by them.

  4. Henry Bucks owning it surprised me too Michelle. I confess to have never looked in the window.

I used to like looking in the window when I was a kid too! I loved all the different hats. V.

  7. When we see old photos of the CBD, races or any crowd, every man wears a proper hat.
    Those were the days.
I bought a hat there - a white Akubra Stetson (it was the 80's and that's my excuse) and a white hat has to have a disaster, so I took it back to ask them to clean off the black oil spot and they said "just dab it with eucalyptus oil".

I was sceptical of course, but hey presto! snow white hat again.
Have used that trick for many other disasters with great success.
    Lobg may they reign.

  8. A Stetson! At least you offered an excuse. Eucalyptus oil has magical properties. I am about to clean our shopping list white board with it.
