A good buy

A new voise with an attractive (altzeimers), umm, what is that flying thing called? A dragon fly, that's it. Yes, a dragon fly, repeated on the other side. Base colour a glossy red. Yeah, well you can see that. The tulip stamens are purple, the colour that used to be added to beer drip trays in pubs to prevent recycling. Vase, $15 from Vic Market. I'm going mad. Is it time for a drink yet? Damn, one hour and 37 minutes still.

  1. Noice!
BTW - do other commenters find that Blogger's Open ID Identity thing always stuffs up with "Open ID Error"? On Blogger blogs I always have to try to save my comments several times, and sometimes lose them completely. Hmmmm. I'll go the name/URL route from now on (all that typing!! - shoudl have made my blog name shorter!

  2. Scott, I just took a look at the way you comment, the only way I have never commented on someone's blog, so I am not much help. I am happy if you just sign a comment by your name in the text, but it gives you no link. You may well have your own blog open already, so just copy and paste the url rather than type it out, but if you type it out often enough, you will be quick at it. What bugs me is blogs that don't remember me, or do sometimes and not the others. Actually, here is a thought. I think I may not be remembered at some blogs if I am not logged into my own blog. Make sure you are logged into your own before commenting.

  4. I used to Pants and your calculation is correct, but given I am getting older, I think I am allowed the privilege of 5.30.

  8. Lovely vase, Andrew. Red and a dragon fly - very appealing. It looks like there are some other very interesting objects in the background of the photo too - a red/orange theme (even the fruit).

  9. Coincidentally, friends gave us similar (but in dark ruby red colour on account of a notable 40 year anniversary) tub of tulips the other week.

Nice vase - I been trying to replace one for years, bloody (now ex) cat knocked it off the mantelpiece. Was special, ideal for daffodils which are the harbinger of spring...

  12. Michael, the vase part is only half the length of the whole thing. It seems to be working well for flowers, iris this week.

  14. Sadly MD, they don't tend to last well.

  15. that is amazing - very impressive

sometimes i buy a plant from the nursery with flowers on it and put it in a pot on the table - the flowers last ages...then i just cut their heads of "off with their heads' and plant them out in the yard... so for about $10 you can have long lasting flowers and if no yard just give them to someone who has - but mine look nothing like this

  16. WE have done that too MC. Except we give the plant away to someone.
