Cherry Blossom

I wrote this yesterday. I think today when it is published you can pretty well call that the cherry blossom trees are in full bloom.

What a pity when we are in Hirosaki, the blooms will be long gone. There is a great manipulable web cam here.

  3. Seems most of Japan is there Cazzie, you may as well be too.

Yep Vik, this will be the prime weekend I think. Let the blossoms fall on you and you can pretend you are a bride getting married.

  4. If you're too late for the blossom, you'll at least have plenty of cherries to pick.

  5. Scott, happened where you are yet?

Somehow I don't think they fruit, do they?

  6. Er...I'm not sure. Presumably they have to reproduce somehow, though.

  8. Not sure how I knew that Brian, as per Vik. We had a beautiful crabapple tree years ago. The blossoms were stunning, but no fruit. I guess they are grown from cuttings or layering.

Just as well Vik. Very messy underfoot.

And can you imagine what it'd be like with people and crows fighting over the pick of the crop!! Vik.
