I have been a long time watcher of Silent Witness on our ABC. I still miss Sam Ryan cutting up the body of a well nourished male and for a while after she left, I did not find the show so interesting.
But last weeks episode was a ripper and the one this week is full of tension. If you used to be fan and left, give it a shot. It is very well made in the finest British tradition.
Never watched it, although I believe it was the inspiration behind CSI...only without the bright lights shining out of the corpses' genitals, of course.
ReplyDeleteWe get CSI too, but I haven't watched it. It seems there is CSI in major US city.
ReplyDeleteoh I adore Silent Witness and Harry!! I have to catch up on iView as I'm at work when it airs, but it's so worth it.
ReplyDeleteLast night's episode in the University was as tense as they come.
ReplyDeleteI, too, liked the original Sam Ryan episodes and her never ending battles with the police.
My only reservation is that the investigation bits in the morgue are becoming increasingly gruesome visually.
ReplyDeleteFen I have tried to like Harry, but he just does not do it for me.
ReplyDeleteEdge of the seat stuff Victor. It is now gruesome at times. And there was a little bit of Sam's personal family stuff too.
That's ok, i'll have him and you can have someone else :)
ReplyDeleteJust round the corner from my place - oddly, Collingwood Town Hall is in Abbotsford, Abbotsford Post Office is in Collingwood. But Abbotsford was once part of Collingwood - another fallout from municipal amalgamation. - Frank
ReplyDeleteComment on the wrong post Frank. I have done the same. Are comments at the top or the bottom? I will cut and paste to the right post. I should have thought about why C'wood Town Hall is in Abbotsford. Abbotsford was of course under City of Collingwood. S'pose it is Yarra now.
ReplyDeleteOnce was a favourite of ours but somehow have gone off this sort of thing now on my own out here
ReplyDeleteNext week is the final episode for this series, I think. The quality has been consistantly high throughout this whole series. It's hard to define the difference between this and the CSIs, probably more human interaction than glitzy techno stuff. Last night's twist was a beauty.
ReplyDeleteI get your drift MC. Part of the enjoyment of the show is that my partner likes it too.
ReplyDeleteJahteh, the twist was indeed good. I haven't watched CSI but I can imagine what it is like. Very slick I am sure.
Fookin 'eck, that was an episode and a half! Very well done indeed. I found myself shouting at the screen a few times!!
ReplyDeletePretty gripping Fen. Are you turning Irish btw? Fookin?
ReplyDeleteLOL, nah I'd been watching a show with a scottish guy in it, ha ha ha!
ReplyDelete-Or maybe reading RH's comment: "Where's me fooken train?" ha ha ha.
