Sol the Stupid

While we in Australia may or may not be racist, the cheek of the departing American boss of Telstra, Sol Trujjilo, accusing us of racism. We hate you as a person Sol, what you did and didn't do and all that you stood for Sol, along with your avarice, incompetence, rudeness and general disagreableness. Absolutely nothing to do with your race. You were an arrogant prick.

Now just shut up, you've already buggered orf and so don't come back. Another fine appointee by the ex Prime Minister John Howard who lost his seat in what should be a safe electorate. Some things do give me pleasure in life.

  1. That's interesting...an American accusing another country of racism. What's the old saying about 'The one who smelt it...'?

  2. I love the fact that he's firing this shot after he's cashed the cheque and left. He might be rich, but all those dollars can't buy the guts to speak your mind when it actually counts.

At least we didn't have an entire economy based on slavery!

  3. No.

It's not a question of whether Australia is racist or not. Australia, like America (and other countries) is made up of INDIVIDUALS. Some of them are racist. Some are not.

I don't know the full story, but if this guy is calling Australia racist, he's being just as much a bigot as he's accusing Australia of being.

It's not fair to paint a group of people with the same brush.

It's really sad when disgruntled people react with bigotry. And that's exactly what Sol Trujjilo is being...a bigot.

  4. Calling Australia a racist country is further proof how little he knew about the place and coninues to prove what a spectacularly bad fit he was for the job the first place.

  5. Surprisingly Bolta sums it up quite well - 'poor' Sol, he couldn't be arsed learning about Aussie humour or culture, tried to shove his crap down our throats via Telstra then cried wee wee wee all the way home...after cashing our $31 million cheque.
    Good riddance to bad rubbish.

  6. Actually, that reminds me of Serena Williams' Mumma playing the racist card a few years ago after her darling daughter kept everyone waiting to start an important match in Oz for a good long time and *surprise surprise* the crowd boo-ed her when she finally decided to grace the court with her presence. No apologies for being late, no excuse offered.
Once back home Mumma Williams cried "racist" at the Aussie nation through the press.
    Can't take personal criticism/responsibilty?
    Cry racism.

  7. New one on me Brian, but I get it.

Yes indeed Dina. He behaved like a kid who could not get his own way and threw a tantrum.

Two simple words Ian. Bad fit.

Don't suppose we could cancel the cheque Jayne? Not heard about the Williams case. As you might guess, there is the odd occasion of similar in my workplace. Discrimination because of stupidity or incompetence is not racism.

  8. Correct Rob. And with a basic wage such as that in the US, well, it is not that far from slavery.

  9. Think about his Aussie milieu for a second - he would have moved in 'executive' circles, corporate boxes etc., and probably never waited at a tramstop or in a supermarket queue - so whatthefuckwould he know.

I should however be grateful to him for his honest advertising with no small-type disclaimers, that causes me to have Telstra Next 3G broadband which drops out only every 5 minutes. ADIOS

  10. Doing my best to ignore him - he's on the speaking circuit making a lot of noise in any way possible, to keep his name in the media... remember that he's still looking for his next gig.
